Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) means a form of electronic billing and payment. The company sends the bill by using the internet (e.g. as an email) and the customer pays it in an electronic way.
Paperbased bills show inefficiencies which are concerned by media disruptions. These can be avoided by the electronic process. The wide distribution of the internet and e-commerce allows an increased application of EBPP both in the B2B as in the B2C commerce.
With regard to the taxation (input tax deduction) it is necessary that the electronic bill is equipped with a qualified electronic signature.
