The Card Verification Value (CVV) is a combination of features which is mainly used in credit cards. It is a 3 digits number which is on the backside of the Visa and Master Credit Cards. It helps the owner to identify and to minimize the risk of fraud.
The CVV is also known as Card Verification Code (CVC) or Card Security Code (CSC) but the CVV number is not the Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN is mainly used for the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and only the card holder knows the number.
